Delete Your Metrify Account
This page explains how to request deletion of your Metrify account and the data associated with it, exactly what is deleted, and what is kept. Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
How to request account deletion
Option 1 — Delete from inside the app (immediate)
- Open the Metrify app and make sure you are signed in.
- Tap the Profile tab.
- Scroll to the bottom, to the Danger Zone section.
- Tap Delete account.
- Read the warning and tap Continue.
- Type DELETE (in capital letters) into the confirmation box, then tap Delete account.
Your account and server-side data are erased immediately, all Metrify data on your device is wiped, and you are returned to the login screen.
Option 2 — Request deletion by email
If you have already uninstalled the app, cannot sign in, or would rather not use the in-app option, email us:
- Send an email to support@metrify.fit from the email address associated with your Metrify account.
- Use the subject line “Account deletion request”.
- We will verify that the request comes from the account holder and delete the account.
We action verified requests within 30 days, and normally much sooner. We will email you to confirm once the deletion is complete.
What is deleted
Deleted from our servers, permanently
- Your account record — email address, password hash, and any Google or Apple sign-in identities linked to the account
- Your profile record — subscription tier and lifetime chat-turn count
- Usage records — daily AI chat turn counters used to enforce quotas
- AI token usage records — per-day model token counts tied to your account
- Device records — any device rows associated with your account
- Active chat session — any in-progress conversation held in server memory
Deleted from your device
Because Metrify is local-first, most of your data never leaves your phone. Deleting your account wipes all of it from the device:
- Food logs, meals, quantities, and nutritional breakdowns
- Exercise and workout logs, workout templates, and custom exercises
- Weight history, sleep records, and step counts (including anything imported from Apple Health or Health Connect)
- Your profile details — name, age, date of birth, gender, height, weight, units
- Calorie and macronutrient goals, including goal history
- Custom foods you created
- Facts the AI assistant saved at your direction (for example allergies or movement limitations)
- Your chat history and any food photos you attached to chats
- Cached catalog foods, reminder settings, and app preferences
- Stored sign-in tokens
What is kept, and for how long
| Data | Why it is kept | Retention |
|---|---|---|
| Shared food catalog entries created when you scanned a barcode we had not seen before | These describe a product (name, brand, nutrition facts), not you. They are not linked to your account and cannot be traced back to you. | Retained indefinitely as part of the shared catalog |
| Food popularity counters | A count attached to a food to improve search ranking. It is attached to the food, not to your account. | Retained indefinitely |
| Purchase and subscription records | Held by Google Play and our subscription processor (RevenueCat) to meet financial, tax, refund, and legal record-keeping obligations. We never receive or store your payment-card number. | Retained by those providers under their own policies and applicable law |
| Crash and diagnostic reports | Collected by Sentry to diagnose app crashes. These contain device and app diagnostics and stack traces, not your fitness data. | Up to 90 days, then automatically deleted |
| Operational server logs | Standard request and error logs, which may contain your account's internal identifier. We do not log your messages, photos, food searches, or scanned barcodes. | Up to 30 days, then automatically deleted |
| Backup files you exported yourself | Created entirely on your device and saved to a location you chose. We never receive them and cannot delete them. | Under your control — delete them yourself |
Want to keep your data? Before deleting, you can export a complete copy from Profile → Advanced → Export data. The backup is written entirely on your device to a location you choose, and can be imported again later on this or another device.
Want to erase your data but keep your account? Use Profile → Advanced → Wipe all data to erase everything Metrify stores on your device without deleting your account.
Cancel your subscription first
Deleting your Metrify account does not automatically cancel an active Premium subscription, because subscriptions are billed by Google Play rather than by us. If you have a Premium subscription, cancel it in the Google Play Store (Play Store → Profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions) before or after deleting your account.
